Botulinum Toxin (‘Botox’)

‘Botox’ is the industry name for botulinum toxin type A which is a purified protein extracted from certain bacteria. It can be injected with a tiny needle into certain muscles at planned target points to temporarily freeze them, which allows a reduction in static and active wrinkles and smoother skin in general.

The most commonly treated areas are the lines on the forehead, frown lines and lines around the eyes or ‘crow's feet’. Advanced areas include treating a ‘gummy smile’, or an overactive chin muscle. The result is a natural smoothing of the complexion with as much as 80% wrinkle reduction.

Botox injections are completely safe when administered by a well-trained and experienced practitioner and the effects are fully reversible as your body processes it naturally and the chemical itself exits the body after approximately 20 days, leaving the smoothing effects to last for up to 6 months.

Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers can be used to fill deep lines and wrinkles as well as add structure and replace lost volume to restore a youthful appearance to the face. They can also be used to improve skin texture on the decolletage area and back of hands. Dermal fillers contain the active ingredient Hyaluronic Acid which is a naturally occurring volumiser for skin and eyes. When injected under the skin they replace the Hyaluronic acid that has been lost over the years through the natural ageing process.

Lip Augmentation

Enhancing lip shape can be done by highlighting the natural outline of the lips or creating a whole new shape with dermal fillers. The size of the lip can be increased naturally or more dramatically depending on the amount of dermal filler used.

Non-surgical Rhinoplasty

Minor bumps on the bridge of the nose can be corrected with dermal filler as well as other small modifications to the shape of the tip.

How long does it last?

Dermal fillers will last depending on their consistency and where they are used. They can last from 6-18 months.
